Electric Adolescence on the Radio

Electric Adolescence on the Radio

The prospect of having my own radio show was never my most active ambition, but it has on some level existed as part of my vague conception of an ideal life; the same way some other people might feel about owning a boat or maintaining a manageable cocaine habit. I had actually been working on show for the better part of a year and the results were nothing short of disastrous, with my personality reacting to a live mic the way my genitals do to cold water. I eventually made a last attempt to record the show, with a promise to abandon the idea upon its inevitable failure. I woke up the next morning with a sullen acceptance that I would set such aspirations aside.

If I wasn’t spiritually dead inside, I could perhaps draw a higher meaning from the fact that on this same day I was approached by a group of people who were starting a radio station. Having failed to record a passable show with the luxury of a prerecorded process, I would agree to attempt it live. It’s as if I was unable to juggle three oranges, so I agreed to try with chainsaws.

While my vocal work on the show so far has been less consistent than the Trump administration’s accounts concerning Russia, the fact that the music remains at the forefront has me standing on the shoulders of giants. This mix represents what I regard as some of the best music I have played so far, and comes with it an open invitation to join me Sunday nights from 8-10 PST on NO FUN Radio, or to check me on the archives.
